The Legendary Hard to Find (But worth
the effort) Quality Secondhand Bookshop - Onehunga, Auckland

Good books are Hard to Find… and Hard to Find has been providing you with quality second hand books since 1984 when Warwick relocated a small part of his book collection to a basement in the south Auckland suburb of Onehunga.

The shop was a popular success and moved to a street frontage in 1988 where it’s been ever since – 171-173 The Mall, Onehunga. For Sixty years from the 1920's to the 1980's it was the Sai Louie's Fruit and Vege shop.

Built in the 19th century, the building used to house a retailers downstairs and a dentist upstairs. Watch out for the ghost –  customers should not be concerned about this as the presence is benign - in the past Warwick has lived on the premises without negative experiences.  Many years ago, a patient died when the dentist overdosed him on anaesthetic… now, with so many books to read, would you ever leave?

“Books are delightful society. If you go into a room and find it full of books - even without taking them from the shelves they seem to speak to you, to bid you welcome”.
-William Ewart Gladstone
